Here are some common installation errors
Windows Administrator User Required
Reason
All Windows computers have a .Net page installed on their computer by default, the issue is most computer have only an really old version, Windows 11 based version is 4.8.1. Our software uses version 8. Since this is a core package that will effect all users on this computer, Windows secure requires an an user with administrator powers to install it.
We know this a huge pain. We researched solutions but we were unable to find a workaround.
Solution
An user with administrator power needs to install Responder.
Virus Threat Detected
Reason
Since Responder is a newer application, some virus scanners are identifying it as a potential virus.
Solution
You should be able to ignore the error and continue on with your installation.
Cannot Start Application
Reason
This is usually caused by a bad installation where some files were missing or one of the required packages were not installed correctly.
Solution
- Delete the installation file from your download directory
- Download a new version from here
- Make sure you are the administrator in our computer or have the administrator install the software.
